Overview
A leading international trading and sourcing organisation is looking for a Merchandiser (FMCG / Sundry) to support its regional supply operations.
This role is critical in driving end‑to‑end merchandising, supplier management, and product lifecycle execution across high‑volume FMCG and general merchandise categories. You will work closely with suppliers, shipping, and sales teams to ensure efficient sourcing, competitive pricing, and on‑time delivery across global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end merchandising process including RFQ, sourcing, negotiation, and order execution
- Build and maintain strong relationships with China-based suppliers and manufacturers
- Handle product development lifecycle (sampling, costing, specifications, packaging, documentation)
- Monitor supplier performance through delivery, quality, and pricing benchmarks
- Prepare costing and pricing analysis to ensure margin targets are met
- Coordinate with logistics/shipping teams to ensure timely shipment and documentation accuracy
- Support pre-shipment inspections, quality control, and claims handling
- Analyse sales and product performance data to drive assortment optimisation and new product development
- Maintain accurate order, pricing, and supplier data for reporting and tracking
- Work cross-functionally with sourcing, sales, and operations teams to drive efficiency
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 4+ years' merchandising / sourcing experience in FMCG, consumer goods, or trading environment
- Hands-on experience managing full order cycle and supplier base in China
- Strong understanding of FMCG / sundry categories (e.g. food, personal care, household goods)
- Proven ability in supplier negotiation and vendor management
- Experience handling high-SKU, fast-moving product categories
- Strong analytical mindset with solid data and reporting skills
- Good communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- Fluency in English and Mandarin is essential
