World Green Organisation (WGO) is an independent non-governmental organisation concerned with environmental conservation and environmentally related livelihood and economic affairs. It provides a holistic approach to a fully integrated three-pronged solution that combines social, environmental and economic dimensions for a paradigm shift towards low-carbon and climate-resilient development pathways. Snapshot Of WGO’s Accomplishments

The WGO collaborated with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) to co-organize the Sustainable Investing and ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) International Conference 2020/2021. The conference was officiated by Chairman of Securities and Futures Commission; Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, HKSAR; CEO, Financial Services Development Council (FSDC); Head of Green and Sustainable Finance (Green Exchange), Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX). HKEX and FSDC act as official Conference Partner.

Plastic Bottle Recycling Programme - Over 3 million of used PET beverage bottles have been collected in collaboration with a beverage brand and its manufacturer by setting up Reverse Vending Machines in different locations and over several hundred mobile collection points were set up in schools, housing estates, club houses and shopping malls to collect plastic bottles.

The Green Office Program (GOALS) supported over 400 offices in their efforts to improve workplace sustainability, including the Airport Authority HK, KPMG, Ernst and Young, Canon, Citic Telecom, DHL Express, JLL and so on. Qualified companies are entitled to receive WGO Green Office Label and Eco-healthy Label.

Energy Poverty Program helped over 400 low-income families in sub-divided flats to reduce their economic burden by cutting down their electricity bills through replacing their electrical appliances with more efficient models and equipping them with energy saving skills.

Social Innovation Inventor Competition – Over 500 teams of tertiary and secondary students amounting to over 2,000 students channeled their creativity to provide innovative solutions, for example, to design smart city as well as temporary housing through environmental-friendly and safe home design. Students are encouraged to show care to the needy and understand the hardships faced by many in our society.

Responsibilities:

Ensure effective implementation and coordination of a range of activities and initiatives, aligning with clients’ projects and requirements, aiming to make positive changes on the environmental protection and waste reduction
Coordinate with different project partners, engaging suppliers, contractors and stakeholders
Participate in the design of project mechanisms, including logistic arrangement in the fundraising stage
Carry out project monitoring, review, reporting and evaluation based on funding proposal

Requirements:

Degree holder in environmental science, marketing, or communication with at least 1-2 years of relevant experience
Self-motivated, able to work independently, multi-tasked and result-oriented
Good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
Candidates with more experience will be considered for the position of Senior Officer.
