Student Guidance Officer (Ref. 240503002-IE)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) provide support in planning, developing and organising existing programmes and new initiatives for enhancing students’ all-round development;

(b) coach, supervise and train student leaders / mentors / helpers to enhance peer support;

(c) administer student surveys and/or evaluation of programmes and services, including data collection, compilation of statistical reports and report writing;

(d) provide support in planning and delivering the promotion of wellness through different channels;

(e) supervise supporting staff on the aspects related to programme implementation; and

(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students or his/her delegates.

The appointee may be required to work beyond or outside normal office hours.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree, preferably in Social Work, Psychology, Education or a relevant discipline;

(b) some relevant experience, preferably in working with university students;

(d) good computer literacy;

(e) a good servicing attitude; and

(f) excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
