Location: Apparel Impact Institute is a globally dispersed remote organization and this role is open to any qualified applicant around the world. For this particular role, however, preference will be given to candidates authorized to work in the following locations: Hong Kong, Great Britain, The Netherlands

ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

Aii identifies, funds, scales and measures proven quality solutions to accelerate positive impact in the apparel and footwear industry. Aii facilitates and drives programs that result in positive environmental impacts during the production of apparel, textile and footwear products. Our current strategic focus in climate action is to deliver a 100 million tonne carbon reduction with our supply chain partners by 2030, supporting the industry in achieving climate-related targets.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Climate Solutions Director is responsible for establishing, maintaining and building Aii's Impact solutions deployment and solution provider engagement strategy. They will manage a global staff and actively engage external partners to ensure that Aii's aspiration to achieve 100 million tonnes carbon reduction by 2030 are met. The Director is responsible for maintaining and aligning Aii's internal and external programs in order to maximize and grow the organization's environmental impact per dollar spent. They will work closely with a global leadership team and facilitate cohesion across diverse and complex supply chain solutions. The Director is responsible for hiring and managing Aii's program operations and solution portfolio team. This position reports to Aii's Chief Impact Officer who is based in Minneapolis, USA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the development and maintenance of Aii's global plans for deploying climate solutions
Drive relationships and performance of Aii's climate solution provider partners
Oversee the creation and deployment of operational deliverables in support of Aii's 2030 carbon reduction goal
Manage a global programs and climate solutions team and support career development of Aii staff
Oversee and connect the incubation, expansion and implementation of climate solutions in support of Aii's supplier engagement strategy
Inform Aii organizational strategy and contribute results in the form of objectives and key results
Represent Aii in conferences, panels and presentations in support of impact programs and climate solutions engagement strategy
Foster an inclusive, communicative and collaborative work environment

REQUIREMENTS

10+ years industry experience strongly preferred
Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, Master's degree preferred.
Fluent English - oral and written skills
Demonstrated success delivering cross-functional, multicultural initiatives with an emphasis on data-driven environmental results
Ability to thrive in remote, diverse, fast-paced, global working environment
Strong communication, relationship building and listening skills
Ability to schedule calls to accommodate global time zones
Moderate travel for meetings
